During the Global Spartan Leadership Program (GSLP) international undergraduate participants will receive training on global leadership, attend cultural events, join service learning projects and receive an $8000 scholarship upon successful completion of the program requirements.
GSLP promotes leadership development that is inclusive, purposeful, collaborative, and values-based.
GSLP is designed to help international undergraduate students think broadly about diversity and will prepare participants to lead in a global world.
GSLP offers participants the opportunity to build their global leadership skills and understand the responsibilities of global citizenship.
Program participants will attend a mandatory non-credit weekly seminar in the fall and spring semesters. This seminar will focus on the following:
Students will be expected to complete assignments outside the seminar to enhance their intercultural competencies and leadership skills.
Participants will also be assigned opportunities to share their cultures and perspectives as international students through presentations, panel discussions and focus groups on campus and in the community.
Global Spartan Leaders are selected each spring for the following academic year. For questions or more information, please contact Amber Cordell at or 517-353-1720.
