Transportation

CATA Capital Area Transportation Authority

COVID-19 Update on May 25, 2020: CATA resumes modified summer service. No mask, no ride. Check the CATA website for hours and other details. 

Uber and Lyft

Uber and Lyft are still providing rides and other services, with added safety precautions and options. Learn more about Uber and Lyft.

Food Banks

MSU Food Bank 

The MSU Food Bank provides free food and related items for MSU students who are experiencing food insecurity. MSU undergraduate, graduate and professional students who do not have an MSU dining plan and are enrolled in courses in fall or spring semester are eligible to use the Student Food Bank. 

Check the website for hours of operation and food distribution updates, including a link to place your order. Orders are by appointment only and students are allowed one visit per week. Food orders will be packaged for pick up outside the front of Olin Health Center. If attending for the first time, please bring proof of enrollment (i.e., bill stub, schedule, etc.) for spring, summer, or fall semester. You must bring your MSU student ID to pick up your order.

Grocery Stores

Grocery stores remain open with modified hours. Some stores offer pickup and delivery services. 

Kroger
Shop in the store or online and pick up your order for free. Delivery service costs $9.95. 

Meijer
Shop in the store or online. Pick-up and delivery services are offered. Check the website for pricing. 

Pharmacies

Pharmacies remain open with modified hours. Some pharmacies offer delivery services.

MSU Pharmacy
Free home delivery within a 30-mile radius of campus and curbside pick-up of prescriptions and over the counter medications at the Clinical Center location. Also offers mail service within Michigan. 

Walgreens
Shop in the store or order online and have your order delivered to you with Walgreens Delivery with Postmates. Pick up medications in the store or use home delivery through AllianceRx Walgreens Prime.

CVS Pharmacy
Shop in the store or order online with free delivery of medications and everyday essentials. 

Local Restaurants 

Many local restaurants remain open for take-out or delivery services. Check restaurant websites or social media for details.

Grubhub Suspends Collecting Fees. Order online at Grubhub.

Burger King Offering Free Kids Meals. Two free kids meals with any purchase made through the Burger King app. 

Local Schools Offering Meals

East Lansing Public Schools Meal Distribution Plan

  • You may pick up a week's worth of meals for any child 18 and under and for young adults with special needs age 26 and under.
  • Meal distributions will take place every Thursday from 12pm-2pm.

Internet Access & Printing

Free WiFi

There are a number of buildings on campus that have WiFi and are open:

  • Student Affairs and Services, Vice President's Office and public open areas
  • International Center
  • Brody Hall open until 10pm daily
  • MSU Union open 7am-8pm Monday through Saturday, 9am-8pm Sunday
  • Residence hall WiFi is available to students living on campus

Internet Service Providers

Two internet service providers, Comcast/Xfinity, Charter/Spectrum, and AT&T have announced they will provide two months of free service for broadband internet access to households with K-12 and college students and/or low-income households. More information is available Comcast/XfinityCharter/Spectrum, and AT&T

Printing

On-campus residents can still access printers within their residence halls.

Printing is also available on the MSU campus at the following locations and times: 

  • Brody Hall, open until 10pm daily in Brody Hall 143, the Brody Hall Engagement Center 
  • MSU Union, open 7am-8pm Mon-Sat and 9am-8pm Sunday, Union Engagement Center in Room 200; Computer Lounge Room 42
  • Student Services Building, 8am-5pm Monday through Friday, Room 26

These printers can be used by visiting print.msu.edu while on campus. If students do not want to come to campus, printing service may be available at shipping providers such as FedEx and UPS.
