Academic Integrity & Plagiarism

Colleges and universities in the United States may have different standards and codes of conduct in the classroom compared to what you have experienced in your home country. To be academically successful at MSU you will need to learn and follow academic integrity standards and understand what your teachers expect from you when it comes to expressing original ideas, citing sources, working independently, and reporting results accurately and honestly.

As a Spartan, I will strive to uphold values of the highest ethical standard. I will practice honesty in my work, foster honesty in my peers, and take pride in knowing that honor in ownership is worth more than grades. I will carry these values beyond my time as a student at Michigan State University, continuing the endeavor to build personal integrity in all that I do.

The Office assists students in resolving conflicts or disputes within the University in a neutral, confidential, informal, and independent manner.
